Future forms. Будущее время

🔮 В английском языке есть множество способов выразить будущее время. В новом видеоуроке мы поговорим с вами более подробно о следующих из них:

- Will & shall - Predictions - Intentions & arrangements - The future clauses - May & might

🤓 В большинстве случаев различия в значениях незначительны, но иногда тонкости могут вам особенно пригодиться

1. Обычное будущее действие и наша решительность

∙ It will be good to see him again (simple future fact) ∙ Don’t worry, I shall definitely be there on time (determination)

2. Общие прогнозы на будущее и прогнозы за основе весомых фактов из настоящего

∙ I think they will win the match (general prediction about the future) ∙ Hurry up, it’s going to rain (prediction based on some strong present evidence)

3. Решения, принятые в момент речи и заранее

∙ I’ll answer that, it’s a call for me (decision made at the time of speaking) ∙ I’m going to discuss it with my husband and then come to a decision (the decision has already need made)

4. Запланированные события: общего характера, согласно расписанию, официальные мероприятия

∙ We are flying to Berlin this Saturday (fixed arrangement) ∙ The plan plane arrives at 2pm (scheduled even, timetable) ∙ The queen is to open a new hospital in London later this week (official event, formal arrangement)

5. Главные и придаточные предложения

∙ [I am afraid it will be noisy next week] (when we are doing the building work) [main clause] + (subordinate clause)

6. Контроль: насколько будущее действие поддаётся нашему контролю?

∙ If we are to win the contract we need to put together a good offer (we can control the winning of the contract) ∙ If you think the car is going to break down we should take the bus (we have no control over the car breaking down)

7. Степень вероятности

∙ She said she may/might come for a drink if she manages to leave work on time (I am more/less certain she will come)
